On Tues 1 Dec Autobahn will be headlining at Sebright Arms with support from both Sweat and The Bodies. Originally from Leeds, this band carries with them a postpunk sound that has received nothing but excellent reviews. This gig comes in light of Autobahn’s debut LP ‘Dissemble’ that was released earlier this year, and you should not miss a chance to see this performed live. More information here:

DIA Film Screening: The Voluntourist @ The Gallery Café (2)

Come to the Gallery Café on Wed 2 Dec for an evening with Development in Action, a charity which aims to promote ‘global citizenship by improving understanding and encouraging engagement in development issues’ within the UK. DIA will be screening their film The Voluntourist and following this showing with a Q&A from the film-maker Cloe Sanguinetti. The Voluntourist follows Chloe on an 18 month journey to numerous volunteering destinations around the world, exploring some of the issues caused by such volunteering on international development. Christopher Owens @ St John on Bethnal Green (3)

Christopher Owens will be performing at St John on Bethnal Green on Thurs 3 Dec. Although often known as the frontman and songwriter for the indie-rock band Girls, since 2013 Christopher has in fact released three solo albums, the latest – ChrissyBaby Forever – being released this year. During this intimate performance, Christopher will play stripped-down versions of the songs which have had the biggest influence on his musical career. More information here:

Freedom and Control @ Oxford House (4)

As part of First Thursdays – a collaborative event in which over 150 galleries in East London hold events on the first Thursday of every month – Oxford House will be hosting ‘Freedom and Control’. This art exhibition will explore the relationship between these two ideas, examining the ways in which control acts as a prerequisite for artistic freedom.  More information here:

Sunday AcroYoga East London Playshop @ Yoga Place (5)

AcroYoga is a fusion of acrobatics and yoga, and this session in Bethnal Green will be taught by WildLoveBeamer whose aim is to ‘create a sense of belonging and union through… physical movement and self-expression’. Whilst these classes will be partner based it is not necessary to bring anyone else along, and is open to everyone regardless of experience. Find your inner well-being and give the session a try!
