Oxford House x London Borough of Tower Hamlets

October 10, 2017

Oxford House has partnered with London Borough of Tower Hamlets to support the Council’s high street improvement strategy for Bethnal Green.

This partnership formalises the ongoing work Oxford House delivers with the local community, in providing platforms for residents and businesses to both have their say and promote their work. Through the Love Bethnal Green website, the Bethnal Green Business Forum, and now our new series of meetings > The Green, we have tried to show our commitment to the local area, and we look forward to developing these platforms further as part of this partnership.

The Council will work in partnership with Oxford House in Bethnal Green to improve local town centre management practices; to enhance local employment opportunities, and to support delivery of regeneration initiatives. Initiatives being proposed by the local authority will include place marketing and promoting events to help generate footfall; business support programmes; wider business and community engagement activities, supporting consultation on the public realm and other regeneration proposals.

Every month, Oxford House will be inviting local businesses, residents and community groups to a meeting known as “The Green”, which will encourage the community to shape up its own ideas for the high street in Bethnal Green.

These meetings, will take place on the 3rd Tuesday of every month, 6pm, at Oxford House.
